Kristian’s Stargate project

I have a made a “working” Stargate model from the SG1 TV-show. It spins, the chevrons move and lights up and when a correct address is dialled, the wormhole is established. The wormhole is an infinity mirror effect. The stargate is controlled with a DHD. You can check out the video presentation of the Stargate in action here:

Here is a video showing one Stargate dialing another Stargate

I like 3d printing, electronics, programming and making stuff. I also enjoy the Stargate TV-series and decided to make a “working” model of the stargate as seen in the TV-show.

This was a challenging and fun project and I had to learn a lot of new stuff. This has been a very time-consuming project. There are a few variations of Stargates used in the show and I chose to make the original one from the SG1 series. There are also several logical “glitches” in the technical workings of the gate as seen in the TV show and it even behaves differently in different episodes. I have made it work as best I can while staying as true as possible to the feeling and essence of the TV-Show.

  • A fully interactive working Stargate complete with a DHD (Dial Home Device).
  • The Stargate ring spins and places the dialled symbol on the correct chevron as the traveller is inputting the address by using the DHD.
  • All 7 chevrons move and lights up when engaged.
  • The Stargate can dial any milky-way address used in the show.
  • NEW: The stargate can now dial other stargates over the Internet, and receive incoming wormholes from other stargates on the Internet.
  • When a correct address is input using the DHD, the wormhole is established.
  • The wormhole effect consists of a animated infinity mirror of 122 LED’s.
  • Complete with sound effects from the TV Show.
  • When the wormhole stays open, selected random audio clips from the TV-Show is played.
  • As in the TV-Show the wormhole can stay open for 38 minutes. When the time limit is reached, a random quote from the show where the time limit is mentioned is played and the wormhole disengages.
  • Do not dial the black hole.
  • The Stargate itself is about 39 cm in diameter.

  1. Hi!

Want to inform you that a chinese palgiator is using your work to scam people. Site ic currently down, but up in the next days i think:
    https://www. [link removed]
Maybe you want to take some legal steps, regarding all photo and video footage used from you.

If you want futher intel, just send me a mail.

    Kind regards

  2. I finished building my stargate using the design from kristian and its amazing. I did look into getting it all professionally printed without a 3D printer and the price is around 1500 so if you see anything less than that its a scam!

  3. I got a stargate like yours but with the brown Egyptian theme like the movie instead of the show and it’s yellow light inside instead of blue and it doesn’t move but it actually looks cool so I don’t think I’ll do anything about it it’s not as good as yours but if I ever print one like yours I’ll have a movie and a show version I guess I’m not happy that I got scammed but they actually sent me something that looks good and lights up so that’s nice

  4. Alas, I was one of the victims of Amethystly’s scam, it seems. I just got a box from China today with a small (6 inch tall) ceramic stargate model, fully painted to look like yours, and with the semi-transparent mirror installed, but absolutely no electronics at all. It’s a fascinating scam, to bother making and sending me anything at all; they can’t have made that much from the transaction. I’m not too beat up about it, because I think I *could* add the LED parts to it (the ring does not spin, of course). There is room in the base and a home in the back that wiring could be fed up through. Wish me luck! I love what you created!

    1. Hope you get a refund, I just got a full refund of $106.99 today after declining their offer of $30. I guess it’s hard to prosecute this kind of fraud in China or something or these people are just chancers and will disappear once they’ve got their money cleared from the people who don’t ask for a refund.

    2. You should still file a claim through PayPal, on principle. I suspect Amethystly’s “business plan” is to rely on enough people not claiming. PayPal/Facebook don’t seem interested in suspending their accounts so they can just continue doing this and making money on the ones that people can’t be bothered to dispute. I just got my refund through today from PayPal, it’s just a shame that people are still being caught. I’m definitely never buying anything from a Facebook ad ever again, they don’t even seem to have a way to report fraud.

  5. Hey finally got my stargate product from that Karen and the box is broken the product itself is in pecieslike broken and iam very unhappy

  6. Yes I’ve been scammed too.

I’ve had several situations with Paypal like this and received full refunds each time. The best way to deal with it is to provide an original video of what they said you would be getting and then your own video explaining why it doesn’t match the description.

Here’s my video showing what a joke this piece of crap is, probably a $10 novelty gift at best:

    1. Just been offered a refund of $30 out of $106 dollars.

Paypal only gives the option of accept or decline with no text but this thing is like a $10 novelty item.

Declined – I will take a full refund thanks and then return the item if necessary.

      Absolute jokers.

Yeah I ordered one for 29.00 deluxe edition and after about 3 attempts to get my money back they said that who ever the company was wanted to settle for 11.00. I was tierd of dealing with PayPal . So I excepted it got my 11.00 yesterday. I would have liked to receive what I had payed for but I received a piece of s..t necklace of the wormhole water about an 1/2 inch across. God I was so pisses. Anywho that’s my story. Please contact me if you do sell these.

  8. Just received my order from Karen site and it has nothing to do with this project
Bad paint job, not movable ring no dhd just the infinity mirror is present and it’s not even blue it’s white

To anyone trying to retrieve their payment from a scam site, go directly to your credit card. Paypal put off my refund 3x because they said they were ‘waiting for more information from the seller’ after I sent them all our communication. After the third delay, I went to my credit card, explained what had happened, and the money was back within a week. Do not wait for Paypal to act, because unless the CC company forces it, they will delay and hope you pass deadlines to prosecute your refund. I have no experience with Paypal’s buyer protection program, but their service without it was definitely lacking.

    1. Strange. Once I opened a resolution with Paypal, they only made 1 attempt to get information from the scammer. After waiting only a week, they closed it in my favor and issued a refund back to my CC.

    2. I waited a month from the Seller’s last contact, then used PayPal’s “message us” link on their “contact us” page. Got put through to a real person after entering the details of the disputed case, and they apologized for the delay and issued me a refund immediately. Not sure if the delay is intentional on PayPal’s part (they might be hoping delayed items arrive in the meantime and the case can be closed) but when poked they did act.

I’m thinking of attempting a build. I’ve got no experience with 3D printing and don’t currently own one. Does anybody know the if it would be possible and the cost to have one of those 3D printing services print up all the parts vs buying a printer like the Prusa i3 mk3 and learning to print them myself. I’m somewhat interested in doing more 3D printing as a hobby on other projects, but if a service could print the parts for much less I might just go that route and consider a printer purchase down the line. Or would Kristian not want his 3D files sent off to a service for printing?

    1. Her name is Tina now. I asked her to kindly return everyone’s money after having already notified the credit card company. Her site is back up and running smh.

  11. Has anyone actually got a package from the scam and what did u get. Si ce this so called Karen won’t give my money back and keeps saying thank u for buying and other shit. She even did not cancel my order like 3 weeks of me asking

  12. Listen people.
This product is legit. They are being built privately and they do function as shown.
However, there is no factory, no sales people, no advertisements, etc. Those claiming so are all scam artists linking their scam to this place. No different than if I wanted to sell the Brooklyn Bridge, I’d show pictures of it.
Do I have one? No. I can’t afford one. I figured the price would be high, but I had no idea it would be $7000 (or more) for this, watching the auction of the one that has been specifically built for ‘sale’.
This means that if I want one, I will have to get the files and instructions and build my own.
If you’ve bought or paid for this product through some advertisement, its a scam, get your money back asap. This guy and his site are not to blame for what criminals are doing to you and deflecting their crime here.
Those of you that have used the paypal, and other electronic means of communication and payment are protected by the laws of the united states. which means, when you ask for your money back through whomever transferred it, ask them to pursue charges on whomever is accepting the money. Put the criminals behind bars because Wire Fraud is a felony that they love to enforce and dole out years of prison time for.

    1. TheMadLibrarian

The Stargate Project as created by Kristian is legit, yes (and a lovely creation, too!) but anyone else who is selling it is 99% a scammer, and you will receive nothing, or a piece of rubbish. The guilty parties will never be brought to justice in the US because they are based overseas where US protections are toothless. You would have far better luck building one yourself if you are crafty, and the result will be far more satisfactory.

  13. I got scammed as well. They keep on replying to my messages saying its processing or its shipped but nothing. It’s been over a month

    1. Yes ive been talking with this Karen who scammed me and everytime she says something to stall me I get up at her for scamjng not just me but many others. She should be held for this

    2. I had the same problem, I contacted them again yesterday and accused them of scamming me and demanded my money back. All of a sudden they tell me my order is lost and would I like to cancel and get a refund? LOL so now I wait to see if they actually do refund me…..

    3. Here’s another message they just sent me. Your order factory has already produced. hope you can keep it. when you receive it any problem you can e-mail me. Our products are OEM, the quality is good

    4. i bought this from a fraudster. paid with paypal and already switched on the buyer protection. today this karen offered me a compensation of 9 dollars. i paid almost 90 dollars

      1. SAME THING! Offered me a whopping $9 back after I opened up a Paypal Resolution.

But GOOD NEWS! PayPal closed my case in my favor today, and I will be getting my entire $89.99 back!
